Development projects, the total amount of which reached 416.5 million DH, were launched and inaugurated on Wednesday in Guelmim on the occasion of the commemoration of the 49th anniversary of the Green March. Of this envelope, more than 300 million DH are devoted to the rehabilitation of under-equipped neighborhoods and the strengthening of basic facilities in the province of Guelmim, according to the explanations provided to the wali of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, governor of the province of Guelmim, Mohamed Najem Abhay, and the president of the Regional Council, Mbarka Bouaida.
Among the projects inaugurated is the Lalla Amina center for the protection of children in difficult situations, a structure under the Moroccan League for Child Protection and which required an investment of more than 11 million DH. In addition, work on the Princess Lalla Meryem social qualification complex was launched. This 25.2 million DH project aims to facilitate access to social and administrative services and judicial protection, to provide listening services, legal guidance and psychological support and to develop the capacities of women.
Some 320.6 million DH will also be devoted to the urban rehabilitation project in the cities of Guelmim and Bouizakarne. This program includes 8 projects (220.59 million DH) relating in particular to urban rehabilitation and the strengthening of infrastructure and public facilities. For the city of Bouizakarne, 10 projects (100 million DH) will be carried out in the field of urban rehabilitation and infrastructure strengthening.
Furthermore, the project to rehabilitate the avenues and streets of the city of Guelmim was also presented to the delegation. Costing 45 million DH, it covers the construction of roads, public lighting, repair of sidewalks and strengthening of the electricity network.
