No buses and no trams from the M TAG network are running this Wednesday morning, confirmed the FO, Unsa and Solidaires unions.

The drivers and controllers have in fact decided to continue the right of withdrawal that they have been exercising since Tuesday morning after the attack around 7 a.m. on one of their colleagues, threatened with a handgun by a man on a bicycle, then that he fined a passenger on the line 16 bus in Échirolles.

The contested right of withdrawal

A right of withdrawal that the management of M Tag refused to recognize at the end of the extraordinary meeting of the CSSCT which was held Tuesday evening, warning that it would withhold salary for the M Tag staff who will have exercised, the unions indicated. The latter believe that their “management tries to minimize and trivialize the facts and only talks about productivity while explaining that employees' right of withdrawal is abusive and illegitimate.”

A new meeting should be organized this Wednesday between management and unions to try to find a way out of the crisis.

Traffic disrupted this Wednesday

This Wednesday morning, in the city center of Grenoble, a few users were still waiting in front of the tram and bus stops, hoping that they would arrive. “I was not aware that the tram was not running today. I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes,” this student from Venezuela despairs. Messages indicate indications on the lines but without specifying that no bus or tram will run all day. Others, like Valentin, took the lead and chose to walk this morning to get to work. “I understand the drivers but it’s true that it’s painful. I hope they will find a solution quickly,” explains the young man.

On the traffic side, although significant traffic jams were recorded this Tuesday evening, the situation was less complicated this Wednesday morning. According to TomTom traffic data, it took a little less than twenty minutes to travel 10 km and around thirty kilometers of traffic jams were recorded.
