The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) made several arrests in addition to seizing large quantities of drugs during an operation carried out in several regions of Quebec on Tuesday morning.

The RCMP seized 94 kg of hashish and 6 kg of cocaine.

RCMP officers arrested four individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking, mainly hashish and cocaine.

Alain Bonneau, 71 years old, and Daniel Le Tourneux, 66 years old, from Quebec, Bruno Di Quinzio, 58 years old, from Montreal, as well as Jean Sigman, 71 years old, from Trois-Rivières, were all handcuffed.

A fifth individual is the subject of an arrest warrant. This is Réjean Gagnon, 63, from Sainte-Thérèse-de-Blainville.

The investigation tends to demonstrate that the alleged traffickers carried out their activities in the regions of Quebec, Trois-Rivières, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Montreal.

In addition to these arrests, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police also seized 94 kg of hashish and 6 kg of cocaine. Eight firearms and $180,000 in cash were also confiscated.

The four arrested suspects face multiple charges, including cocaine trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking and conspiracy. They must appear by videoconference at the courthouses in Trois-Rivières, Quebec and Montreal today.

In total, 16 people face charges in connection with this case. Eleven other individuals must appear at a later date while Gagnon is still on the run.
