WhatsApp has launched a feature called Custom Lists, which allows users to categorize their conversations.
This new addition, integrated into the application belonging to Meta, aims to improve the management of conversations and differentiate contact groups.
Using the Lists feature, WhatsApp users can also filter their conversations with custom categories of their choice.
“As with your ‘favorites,’ you can add groups and individual chats to a list, and any list you create will appear in the filter bar”WhatsApp said in a statement.
The company rolled out this feature on October 31 and it will be available in the coming weeks. The tech giant also mentioned that it is looking forward to expanding the Lists functionality to help WhatsApp users focus on the people and conversations that matter most.
In addition to the chat theme update, WhatsApp has improved its video calling capabilities with several new additions. With the latest updates, users will now be able to add an element of creative expression by applying filters, like Warm, Cool and Dreamy, during calls.
The messaging app also introduced background customization, offering options like beach scenes, cozy living room settings, or a simple blur for privacy.
To improve the visual experience during video calls, especially in dimly lit environments, WhatsApp has also launched a ‘Low Light’ mode and a ‘Touch Up’ feature for users concerned about video quality.
