Difficult for some learner drivers to obtain a driving license. With the long deadlines and the exorbitant prices of course hours, stress can quickly mount at exam time. But according to a study by the online driving school In car Simone ordered by Capitaland published this Monday, obtaining the permit would be easier in certain departments than in others.
The good students
Thus, according to the Simone car barometer, on a national scale, the driving license pass rate stands at 50.9%. However, some departments offer much higher success rates. In Eure, for example, 80% of candidates obtain their license. This makes the department the first student in terms of exam success.
This high rate is partly explained by the low number of candidates. The time taken to obtain a slot is also less than four weeks. To cite other “good students”, we find Yonne with 77% success rate, Drôme (75%), Somme (70%) and Morbihan (68%).
Bad students
Conversely, other departments are less favorable to obtaining the permit. In these areas, the success rates are well below average, with only 32% in Loiret, 34% in Sarthe and even 37% in Isère. Here, candidates often face longer waiting times which can reach twelve weeks. This situation therefore weighs on the results.
“Faced with this observation, we must launch a global reflection to compensate for the lack of inspectors. We owe it to the students,” said Edouard Rudolf, director of En Voiture Simone, who recalls that these delays also weigh on the students’ budget. In fact, they sometimes have to consider taking classes again to avoid losing control.
