The Clair-Soleil primary school in the Saint-Nicolas sector, in Lévis, which is temporarily closed for security reasons, could be completely demolished, according to an expert report which puts forward two options, including this: here.

In particular the absence of reinforcement of the concrete block walls. Vibrations from the work represent a risk of concrete blocks falling and potentially injuring a student or employee.
The situation inevitably forced the closure of the school in September and the transfer of hundreds of students.
The consulting engineering firm WSP was mandated to carry out an assessment of the existing interior block walls of the Clair-Soleil school. At the end of the analysis, two options are recommended: the reconstruction of the block walls according to current codes and a seismic upgrade or the demolition and reconstruction of the Clair-Soleil school.
The option to rebuild the block walls would range between $14 million and $16 million. That of the demolition and reconstruction of the school would vary between $17 million and $23 million.
