Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has threatened the United States and Israel with a scathing response for their actions against Tehran.
Ali Khamenei, in power since 1989, spoke on Saturday to a crowd of students in the capital, Tehran, on the occasion of “Students’ Day”.
The senior Iranian leader discussed Israel’s actions in the region and its attack on Iran on October 26.
”The enemies, both the Zionist regime and the United States, must know that they will certainly receive a scathing response to their actions against Iran, the Iranian nation and the resistance front,” Ali Khamenei assured.
He added that the general movement of the Iranian nation and the country’s authorities to counter “the criminal apparatus that rules the world order today will certainly not fail.”
”We are certainly doing everything that needs to be done to prepare the Iranian nation, whether in military terms, weapons or political action to fight against arrogance,” insisted the Iranian Guide.
On October 26, the Israeli army said it had carried out “precise and targeted” strikes on Iran, which targeted missile manufacturing sites, surface-to-air missile batteries and other aerial systems in several regions, in retaliation for the attack on the Jewish state on October 1, when Iran launched some 200 missiles on its soil.
The Israeli strikes carried out ”as part of an operation generating tensions” had targeted military bases in the provinces of Ilam (west), Khuzestan (southwest) – bordering Iraq – and Tehran , causing “limited damage in certain places” and causing the death of four soldiers, according to a press release from the Iranian air defense forces.
