In Nigeria, voices are being raised to denounce a blunder by the Chadian armed forces who have mistakenly killed dozens of fishermen in the Lake Chad region, according to information relayed by the media.
These accusations come as the Chadian army continues the Haskanite operation announced by President Mahamat Idriss Deby in retaliation for the attack by a faction of Boko Haram, Sunday October 27, against a military base which cost the life of a forty soldiers, specifies RFI.
Contacted by RFI, Abubakar Gamandi, president of the Borno fishermen’s association, confirmed the death of numerous fishermen, killed during an air raid by the Chadian army.

“This attack affected many of our members, some were injured and were brought to Doron Baga and taken to the military hospital where they are being treated. The spokesperson for the Chadian government, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abderaman Koulamallah, rejects these accusations.
