As the American presidential election approaches, tension is growing between the candidates. Donald Trump violently attacked Vice President Kamala Harris during a rally in Pennsylvania. In response, Kamala Harris denounced the attitude of the ex-president, accusing him of degrading the presidential office.
Donald Trump “debases” the office of president of the United States, Kamala Harris said on Sunday, after the former head of state described her the day before as a “shit vice president” during a meeting of campaign.
“The president of the United States must define a standard, not only for our nation, but also for (…) the role that our nation plays in the world,” she said during an interview on MSNBC .
The behavior of “my opponent, a former president of the United States, really degrades the presidential office,” said Ms. Harris.
Asked about her way of handling the daily insults from her Republican opponent, the Democratic candidate insisted on the importance of the American presidential office beyond Washington.
“When you represent the United States of America, you enter rooms around the world with the authority and legitimacy to speak about the importance of democracy and the rule of law.”she detailed.
On Saturday, Donald Trump encouraged his voters to express their discontent with the current government in filthy terms.
“You need to tell Kamala Harris that you’ve had enough, that you can’t take it anymore. (…) You’re a shitty vice-president, the worst vice-president, Kamala, you’re fired. Get out. here, get lost”, he told the crowd in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
A fortnight before the election, and while advance voting has begun in many constituencies, the two candidates are focusing on key states, which oscillate between the two parties, and are essential to victory.

Kamala Harris celebrated her 60th birthday this Sunday in two black churches in Georgia, before also traveling to Pennsylvania.

“Donald Trump should never again stand behind the seal of President of the United States. He has not earned this right”she concluded on the issue of crude insults during the interview.
