Assassination of Khalil, 18, in Antibes: three young people in pre-trial detention, a fourth placed under judicial supervision

On Friday September 14 around 4:45 p.m., Khalil, an 18-year-old young man, was killed by a stabbing weapon near 1200 chemin des Combes in .

The first testimonies showed that at least three men had been seen leaving the scene in a hurry.

The public prosecutor’s office then referred a murder investigation to the interdepartmental judicial police service.

Investigations by the criminal brigade of the organized and specialized crime division (DCOS) quickly established that the victim, known to the police, had received a stab wound to the chest.

On the alleged perpetrators’ escape route, several items of clothing and two tear gas canisters were discovered.

On one of the bombs was the papillary print of a 16-year-old minor, also known to the police. He was also imprisoned for other acts committed a few days after the murder.

The romantic date was an ambush

According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim had presented himself, prepared, for a romantic date with a young girl arranged through the Snapchat network. In reality, Khalil was ambushed, according to the judicial police.

Four individuals took him to the basement of a residence where an altercation occurred. The victim managed to escape before being caught by his attackers. The young man then collapsed, suffering a fatal blow. The murder weapon remains, for the moment, untraceable.

The investigators were able to quickly identify a second accomplice aged 16, also known to the police, then finally the entire group made up of two other protagonists aged 15 and 19, who do not have a criminal record. .

The teenager presented herself at the police station

On October 12, a 16-year-old girl presented herself at the Antibes police station as a witness to the facts. She was initially heard in a free hearing.

This week, as part of a letter rogatory issued by an investigating judge from the Grasse judicial court, the young girl and three other protagonists were arrested and placed in police custody. The main suspect was taken from his remand center.

The young girl admitted having arranged to meet the victim at the request and under duress of the main perpetrator, without knowing the real reason. At the end of her custody, she was indicted and placed under judicial supervision.

Three behind bars, a fourth under judicial supervision

Like the teenager, the three young men admitted their participation in the ambush and named the fourth, the one who left his mark on the tear gas bomb, as being the author of the stabbing.

They claimed to have acted as part of reprisals.

At the end of their police custody, the four young men were indicted by an investigating judge of the Grasse judicial court for assassination and the judge of freedoms and detention was seized with a view to their placement in detention provisional.

Two of the four young men were imprisoned, one was subject to a temporary incarceration measure and the last was placed under judicial supervision.
