Diéguy Diop’s option to avoid prison

Referred this Friday at the same time as the director of General Administration and Equipment (DAGE), Mouhamadou Sène, and two other defendants, the former director of the Promotion of the Social and Solidarity Economy benefited of a return of parquet.

Diéguy Diop, who would be the target of a judicial investigation opened by the new public prosecutor, Ibrahima Ndoye, for alleged misappropriation of public funds, should have his fate determined on Monday. According to Les Echos, those accused have the possibility of avoiding prison. They just need to countersign. For this, the head of the Alliance for the Republic (APR) would be committed to paying an amount estimated at 28 million CFA francs.

Resumed by the newspaper, Diéguy Diop would however specify that “if she decided to countersign, this does not mean that she admits the facts, but that it would just be to avoid prison and regain the freedom to come and go”.
