many LFI elected officials present during the pro-Palestinian demonstrations this Saturday in

This Saturday, at Place de la République, a pro-Palestinian demonstration was once again held, with support for Lebanon as the slogan. Many personalities from the LFI Party were present.

The elected officials and leaders of La insoumise Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Manon Aubry, Clémence Guetté and Louis Boyard were present in on Saturday October 5, in the procession bringing together several thousand people at Place de la République (12th), in Paris. The demonstration “in solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese people” then headed towards Place de , in the 17th arrondissement, where the last demonstrators chanted “Intifada, Intifada”.

“Israel assassin, Macron accomplice” were also heard around the square, straddling the 3, 10 and 11th arrondissement of the capital, where the number of demonstrators was increasing. Activists mobilized to support the Palestinians and the Lebanese, with the other slogan “Palestine will live, Palestine will win”.

It was the Insoumis leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon who opened this march with a speech, while at his side, Ersilia Soudais, the deputy for the 7th constituency of Seine-et-, was present with her tricolor scarf and a Keffiyeh. Although no disturbance of public order has been recorded, the police have, according to information from CNEWS, noted certain comments which could fall under the law, such as those made by the co-founder of the Peuple Révolté collective Ritchy Thibault: “Friends, we are going to go all the way. Our comrade Elias [d’Imzalène, Ndlr] was right, the only path in the streets of Paris is the Intifada.

A judicial observation of these remarks was thus made, leading to a report under article 40 of the penal code to the Paris prosecutor from the prefect of police.

As a reminder, after the demonstration on September 8 in Paris, during which Elias d’Imzalene, a registered S activist, called for an Intifada, the police prefect summoned the organizers of the rally to explain themselves, in the absence whereupon he would be obliged to ban the following demonstrations. The Greens, LFI and the NPA responded to the prefect, saying they did not support Imzalene’s comments and disapproving them. For his part, D’Imzalene will be tried by the criminal court for his comments on October 23.

While the commemorations of the October 7 attack by Hamas against Israel in 2023 are being prepared – an attack which was not mentioned in the procession – this Saturday’s gathering follows the pro-Palestinian demonstrations and to the occupations that occurred this week, on two occasions, Tuesday and Thursday, within the Sciences Po Paris grounds. The new president of the establishment also took legal action this Saturday. Luis Vassy faced anti-Israel disturbances and denounced the responsibility of Hicham Touili-Idrissi, a collaborator of European MP Rima Hassan and member of the Palestine committee.
