Paris – A ceremony was organized Friday evening at the Palais du Luxembourg, seat of the French Senate, in tribute to Moroccan and international personalities committed to the public good.
The ceremony was organized by the Universal League of Public Good which presented its gold medal on this occasion to the head of the parliamentary group of the Popular Movement (MP) in the House of Representatives, Driss Sentissi.
Around twenty other personalities were rewarded by this institution, including the Franco-Moroccan elected official Fatima Massau, community actress and advisor in the Hauts-de-France region.
Speaking on this occasion, the president of the Universal League for the Public Good, Jean-Claude Baudry paid tribute to the decorated personalities, saluting in particular the political and social career of Mr. Sentissi, also a member of the Higher Council of Education, Training and Scientific Research.
Mr. Sentissi, who said he was “deeply honored” by this distinction, for his part, affirmed that this prize is not an end in itself, but an encouragement to pursue one’s commitments.
The Moroccan MP also welcomed the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and France which, he said, “go beyond traditional diplomacy and are based on a frank and sincere political dialogue in various areas linked in particular to security, immigration and their multi-sector partnership”.
Founded in 1446, the Universal League of Public Good is a French NGO whose aim is to bring together people, associations and works whose activity is oriented towards the public good in all its forms. It rewards 100 personalities per year around the world.
