A citizens’ committee, made up of 23 members and supported by 20 associations, collected 131,542 signatures for the popular initiative “Yes to the security of medical supplies”. Submitted this Thursday at the Federal Chancellery in Bern, the bill aims to put an end to shortages of medicines and essential medical goods.

The initiators formulated three very concrete demands: responsibility for security of supply must be entrusted to the Confederation, research, development, production and storage in Switzerland must be strengthened and supply chains from abroad must be significantly more reliable and secure.
