Bernie Moreno visits New Philadelphia day before election

NEW PHILADELPHIA – The Republican candidate for Ohio Senator visited New Philadelphia Monday.

Trump-endorsed Cleveland businessman Bernie Moreno is challenging Democrat Sherrod Brown, who is seeking his fourth term. Moreno appeared with Alabama Senator and former college football coach Tommy Tuberville at Craft Bistro. They rallied a crowd of about 60-75 supporters and other elected officials, including Ohio’s top elections officials, Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

“We have 13 hours. The state of Ohio has given us 13 hours to vote tomorrow,” Moreno said. “6:30 on the dot the polls will open…and we’re going to close them at 7:30 or until obviously the last people in line go through, so 13 hours of voting is what’s left.”

Moreno predicted that he would be elected to give the Republican Party control of the Senate.

“I think this is what happens: I think after Ohio gets called – and Ohio is the center of the political universe, think about it, the whole world – once that statement is made, D.C. is not a state, Puerto Rico is not a state, they don’t nationalize our elections, they don’t pack the supreme court, they don’t make all these illegals citizens. All that ends the minute my race is called at 8:00. That’s pretty remarkable. Ohio did that.”

Brown meanwhile was in Cleveland on Monday with former President Bill Clinton and Columbus over the weekend where he spoke about the money being spent in opposition to his campaign.

“When you stand up for justice, when you stand… for civil rights, when you stand for labor unions, stand for workers, when you… take on the drug companies, when you take on Wall Street, when you take on companies that outsource jobs, when you take on those companies that rip off the public, they come after you,” Brown said in Columbus.
