How to associate a ringtone with your contacts on Android

If you have an Android phone, then it’s quite simple to associate certain contacts with different phone ringtones. But be careful: from one phone to another, there are variations.

The process for associating contact and telephone ringtone is essentially the same. However, depending on the brand (Samsung, OnePlus, etc.), the UI can really mislead you. But anyway, it all starts in your contacts, and by going to the profile that you want to associate with a ringtone.

The method to follow on Samsung

Then, this is where it can get complicated (very slightly). You want to select the three small vertical points (the parameters) of the profile. On the basic version of Android (Google Pixel, for example), they are at the top left of the profile, but on the most used Android brand in Belgium, Samsung, it is at the bottom right that you will find these same three points. Tap it.

On the basic version of Android, you will then see a submenu that will appear, and you can choose the “Set ringtone” option (on Samsung smartphones, it is rather “Change ringtone/vibration”).

It’s then up to you to select the ringtone or vibration that you want to associate with your contact, and that’s it, that’s it!
