Four Rail Security officers were attacked last night by a man armed with a chopper. The attack took place not far from the François-Mitterrand library metro station in Paris, reveals “Le Parisien”.

The stranger rushed towards an unmarked car where the representatives of the order, in uniform, were present. He tried to open a door to enter the vehicle.

Three of the four officers then got out from the other side of the car. Despite their warnings, the attacker with the chopper moved towards them, threatening them. It was at this moment that they opened fire, hitting the man in four places: the left toe, the left foot, the lower back on the left and between the left ear and the bottom of the neck, specify our colleagues.

In the process, the attacker threw his chopper towards one of the police officers, without however managing to seriously injure him. The agent escaped with a simple hematoma to the shin.

The man, unknown to police, was taken to hospital. His vital prognosis is in jeopardy. A witness told the police that he had previously seen this individual running after passers-by.

An investigation into attempted homicide of a person responsible for a public service mission has been opened.
