INFO LE FIGARO – Apart from a few poachings, the outgoing MEPs should occupy most of the eligible places on the majority list, of which around thirty first names are expected on Saturday.

The Macron camp chooses continuity. From the long negotiations which took place around the composition of the list, in view of the European elections of June 9, the outgoing MEPs emerged as winners. According to information from Figaro, current elected officials occupy most of the top 15 places. Those considered eligible, according to the latest wave of the daily Ifop-Fiducial survey for Le FigaroLCI and Sud Radio, in which candidate Valérie Hayer is credited with 16.5% of voting intentions (+ 0.5).

Until the last days of the discussions, the talks proved difficult, according to the chief negotiators of the presidential majority. It’s difficult to organize when the polls put the meters in the red. It’s a mikado : when you put someone somewhere, you take out another, somewhere else », observes one of them. Especially since 19 of the 23 parliamentarians elected in 2019 have declared themselves candidates for succession.
