A disturbing video

It all started with a short video published on the social network X, where we can hear a sample from Kayne West’s next album. Internet users quickly noticed disturbing similarities between the rapper’s sound and a piece by Pomme entitled “Soleil soleil”.

A “deep political disagreement”

This Monday, the singer took to Instagram to “clarify a situation regarding a potential use” of her song “Sole Soleil”. She says she never authorized the use of the title “for any reason” and “especially not in this context,” adding that her personal beliefs were in direct opposition to West’s political stances.

Pomme admits to having “greatly admired” the artist in the past, probably before the latter fell from grace following several anti-Semitic releases.
