“It’s a subject that affects a lot of women”
At the microphone of Frédéric Pommier, the interpreter of the title “Dare” indulged in very personal confidences to evoke his love for the famous piece by Eric Clapton. It's a story that everyone knows and is tragic: the American music legend wrote it in 1991 after the accidental death of his four-year-old son Conor who fell from the 53rd floor of an apartment in New York. “. I discovered Eric Clapton thanks to this song. It's a song that I listen to often, I imagine it was my dad who introduced me to it. I have a lot of respect for people who share so much intimacy » explains Jenifer, amazed by “ the talent of performer and the power of author » from the musician the first time she heard “Tears In Heaven”: “ It's a lament, a tribute, a song of apology too. (…) It's a subject that I understood later, when I became a mother. I have three sons. I dared to imagine putting myself in his place, if I lost one of my children, would I manage to survive? ».

If Eric Clapton's pain resonates so strongly in the heart of the winner of the first “Star Academy”, it is because she too has gone through painful ordeals. “ It made me understand and unravel things inside of me. (…) In a way, it served as an outlet for certain things that I was experiencing. What I am going to say is very intimate, but I have already experienced miscarriages, for example. I had this feeling while listening to this song, I had the impression of having lost a loved one » revealed, in a trembling voice, the singer, very moved to evoke for the very first time these dramas that she had to experience in private. So, Jenifer says he regularly listens to this piece which helps him “ externalize pain » et « accompany the sorrow » : « It feels good to have a good cry ».
With kindness, the journalist then questioned Jenifer on this experience. “ This is a subject that affects a lot of women. » confided the Corsican artist, who rethinks “ often » to what she experienced as “ disappearances » : « Sometimes it comes back to me, it was very intense pain. (…) The song has this power to console me, strangely. I tell myself that there is something more terrible than what I experienced. It allows me to find myself, not to forget “. This is the reason why “Tears In Heaven” upset » each time you listen: “ She will upset me for eternity “. She had not yet spoken about it to ” person » but these miscarriages inspired to Jenifer a song that she has never revealed. “ I never managed to sing it. Will I have the strength one day? » asks the 42-year-old star, for whom these miscarriages have left deep scars. For now, she is keeping this text “ stored carefully » in a drawer.
