Albi is transformed into a temple of music, from July 2 to 7. This year, the “Pause Guitare Sud de France” festival returns with an even more ambitious program mixing established artists and young talents, for 4 days of explosive concerts. [Partenariat]

This major event in the southwest of France, in Albi, needs no introduction. Since its creation in 1996, a host of artists have appeared on the Pause Guitare stage: Bob Dylan, Sting, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Scorpions, Joe Cocker, Elton John, Georges Moustaki, Indochine…

And above all, artists who have climbed many levels since their first ranges in Albi: “Many of those programmed on the discovery stages return as headliners a few years later, crowned with deserved success: Cali, Renan Luce, Bénabar, Olivia Ruiz, Cats On Trees, all had their chance with Arpèges & Trémolos, and all knew how to seize it.”rejoices the association Arpeggios & Tremolosorganizer of the event.

Occupied by the festival for 12 years, Pratgraussals is the epicentre of the festival and the largest stage of Pause Guitare where the headliners perform.

Bet won for Arpeggios & Tremolos which manages, every year, to bring the biggest names in international music to the Tarn.

This 28th edition will see 4 to 5 artists parade each evening on the Pratgraussals stage:

  • Thursday July 4th : Phreak Monica, Deluxe, IAM, Archive, Chinese Man
  • Friday July 5th : Apple, Julien Granel, Calogero, Tiakola
  • Saturday July 6th : George, Hoshi, Louise Attaque, Josman
  • Sunday July 7th : Dionysos, Simple Minds, Gossip, Alice Cooper

It must be said that culture and musical discovery have been anchored in the DNA of this association since the beginning. It is therefore no coincidence that the Pause Guitare festival turns out to be a real springboard for young talents!

Because if the recognized artists perform on the big stage of Pratgraussals, the epicentre of the festival which welcomed no less than 17,000 people per evening in 2023, the young talents benefit from the intimacy of the smaller stages scattered throughout the city.

Around the Pratgraussals site there are many other scenes. The Grand Théâtre, the Discovery Stage “Chez Pollux Asso”, the Athanor, the Acadian stage (Place du Vignan), the Talents de Quartier de Lapanouse stage or even the Café Plùm will perhaps introduce you to the new Bob Dylan or Elton John?

Between two ranges, the festival invites you to stock up at the Village de Stands, which, under the beautiful avenue of plane trees in the Jardin National, will offer a choice of Foodtrucks and Wine Tucks to satisfy all desires!

For families, the Children’s Village will also be back and will invite young and old to take part in free activities and workshops in the shade of the Place du Vignan park.

In short, the musical and summer stopover of the Pause Guitare festival will be more than beneficial this year to escape, for the duration of a concert, from the current and anxiety-provoking political context…

See you in Albi from July 2 to 7!
