Among the international stars of the moment, it is impossible not to mention Dua Lipa. Recently present in France for two memorable concerts near Nîmes, the British-Albanian artist was once again able to rub shoulders with the French public. A country about which she has a rather clear and clear opinion!
An essential superstar for several years, Dua Lipa has transformed herself into a real hit machine. The proof? “Houdini”, her latest hit, has been a hit all over the world. It was for this song that many French people went to the Arènes de Nîmes on June 12 and 13, in order to see the star in the flesh. Concerts that were also warmly praised by critics.
For Dua Lipa, coming to France is always special. The 28-year-old artist has in fact never hidden the special link that binds her to this country, she who is particularly fond of French gastronomy. As such, without meeting the starred chef Hélène Darroze remains a great memory for her. But that’s not all.
Dua Lipa very complimentary towards France
In an interview with “Konbini”, the woman who assumes this passion for France responded amusedly to the journalist explaining to him that she was “practically French”:
I know all the restaurants, I know you have the best wines… I have a lot of friends here. Paris has always been important to me, already because it’s close to London, so it’s easy to come.

Fond of gastronomy and oenology, the London native has a particular affection for the French who work in restaurants:
I have friends who work in the restaurant industry who made me love food even more. Every time I come to Paris, it’s a culinary experience! It’s so much fun to taste new dishes, discover new wines, meet different people…
I find that people who work in the restaurant industry are all crazy and fun and love life. I only have good memories here.
In short, far from the criticism sometimes addressed to the French about their coldness, Dua Lipa feels at home when she comes to France. And she intends to come back to it many times, as she said:
My tours, the fans… Everyone is so passionate. I was so well received here, with so much love, that I only have reason to come back.
If certain international stars do not particularly appreciate the French and their attitude sometimes too far from the Anglo-Saxon mold (hello Natalie Portman), Dua Lipa enjoys each of her visits to France. Very good news for fans of the singer, who can therefore hope to see her again on stage in France soon!
