17 years ago, in 2007, Julien Doré won the fifth season of Nouvelle Star. On the telecrochet set, he performs “Moi… Lolita” by the singer Alizée in his own way. Revisiting the songs of others is therefore innovative in televised young talent competitions. A cover that sets him apart from his comrades, and even becomes his signature, carrying him to victory. In 2009, Julien Doré won two Victoires de la Musique: “revelation album of the year” for Ersatz and the “video clip of the year” for Limits.
Four years after the release ofAimee (2020), Julien Doré surprises (or not ultimately) by announcing the release of an album of covers, in which he plays the “Imposter”. “I want to succeed in saying who I am, in the words of others, before sharing mine,” explains the one who will begin the tour on March 1, 2025.
For this sixth studio album, the singer-songwriter takes French hits to interpret them in his own way. The objective? “Connecting the present moment to the history of memories”.
A duet with Sharon Stone
A project that required months of work in the studio, born from exchanges of discussions on Instagram and WhatsApp with K-maro, Sharon Stone, the L5, Philippe Risoli, Francis Cabrel and Isabelle Adjani. The singer shared with them his desire to “play with the timelessness of their songs, invite them to sing others, or simply share a moment”. Brief, “tell them in the present how present they are in the history of my memories”. This is how Sharon Stone, Francis Cabrel and Hélène Ségara share three duets with him on this disc.
”The first encourages him one evening, when he was nothing, in a suit too big for him, and was already singing other people’s songs, in piano-voice. That evening, no one listens to him except her. The second changes his childhood and injects into him the desire to make music. It has inspired him since his relationship with the profession; the importance of silence, distance, modesty and respect. The third slips into her adolescence like a refuge […] as if the hostile outside did not exist”, can we read in the announcement press release.

Finally, what could be more normal than to use the title that revealed it “Moi lolita”. So the circle is closed.
