Fiction wins, once again. Wednesday evening, France 2 took the lead in the audiences with the first two episodes of the Franco-Belgian mini-series “Contre toi”. This first week with Virginie Ledoyen, Lannick Gautry and Charlie Dupont attracted 2.88 million curious people on average, or 15.2% of the public.

Second, TF 1 was banking on an American series with the finale of season 1 of “Will Trent”, led by Ramón Rodríguez. The last two episodes of this salvo excited 2.51 million French people on average, for a 13.4% market share among the general public and 14.8% among women responsible for purchases under the age of fifty. Over the course of a week, 100,000 people deserted.

Note that in the afternoon, the absence of “Secret Story” is felt since the docu-reality “Large Families: Life in XXL” performs much lower. The first episode, at 5:35 p.m., only brought together 455,000 people (5.8%) while the second, at 6:03 p.m., brought together 642,000 (6.8%).

The Three Good Tenth

The bronze medal goes to M 6 with the final of the fifteenth season of “Top Chef”, hosted by Stéphane Rotenberg. The confrontation between Jorick Dorignac and Clotaire Poirier made 2.01 million gourmands salivate on average, representing 12.1% of the public and 22.6% of housewives under the age of fifty (target in which the Six is the leader). However, this is the program’s lowest-ever final.

At the foot of the podium, Arte is a millionaire with the new British drama “My Lady”. This feature film by Richard Eyre with Emma Thompson, Stanley Tucci and Fionn Whitehead attracted 1.04 million moviegoers (5.4%). When it was released in theaters in August 2018, it had a total of 416,000 admissions.

To find France 3, you have to go down to the tenth floor. The regional debates for the early legislative elections turned into a ratings disaster and only interested 476,000 citizens, for a 2.5% audience share. Less than France 2, TF 1, M 6 and Arte, but also than “Mongeville” on C8, “Musiques en fête” on France 5, “Bohemian Rhapsody” on W9, “Les Municipaux: too much, it’s too much” on CStar and “Baby Boom” on TFX.
