Pascal Obispo is ready to retire very soon

This is likely to make Pascal Obispo fans fall off their chairs. The 59-year-old star is already thinking about retirement. And this could come sooner than we imagine. In an interview given to Ciné Télé Revuethe interpreter of Lucie spoke about his next project, to be released in October 2025. “This will perhaps be my last album” he said, before specifying: “It will be my last year before my retirement. So we have to take advantage of it.”

If for some, retirement at 60 is a utopia, this is not the case for the singer. “Everyone retires at some point, so it’s going to have to happen,” explains Pascal Obispo before explaining that he doesn’t see himself “not in bad shape, limping on stage.”

Anyone who has recently had to cancel dates for health reasons is not planning to cut corners. “I have this moment in mind, as Jean-Jacques Goldman also had it,” he cites as an example.

And after?

Retirement does not mean idleness. For Pascal Obispo, “before , there is life. And life is the most important thing.” And a few projects already seem to be on his mind. “Apart from music, I have painting, literature, writing. There are plenty of things to do in the second half of life…” he says.

While waiting for this possible final album for its 60th anniversary, fans will be able to console themselves with The Archipelago of Aftermathsan album of duets with female artists including Carla Bruni, Zazie, Nolwenn Leroy and Isabelle Boulay to be released on November 15.
