For several months, Florent Pagny is becoming rarer in the media. The singer, who is still fighting cancer, has decided to prepare in the shadows for his return to The Voice, for the next season of the talent show. But according to our colleagues at Parisianthe artist decided to come out of his silence for a cause close to his heart. Indeed, he wants to sing to support Paul Watson, this environmentalist who was arrested and imprisoned in Greenland.
Our colleagues from Le Parisien were thus able to exchange with Florent Pagny who wishes to break the silence, because “the cause is good, the guy is in a trap”,
he confides, confirming at the same time the recording of a song for Paul Watson.
Florent Pagny gives news of his cancer
Like many artists, like Brigitte Bardot,
Florent Pagny wishes to campaign for the release of the man who always defended the oceans : “If with my little voice I can be useful, I do it. I rarely get involved, because I am not an activist, I don’t do politics,”
he blurted. But this time will be an exception.
During his conversation with The Parisianthe singer also talks about his illness, he who has been subject to numerous relapses: “It’s not for nothing that we call it the crab, it sticks. But it’s okay,” he specifies. Returning to his song for Paul Watson, the artist recalls that he too is a lover of whales. Living in Patagonia, he regularly sees his magnificent animals: “It’s 250 km from us, in Puerto Madryn. Between the jets and the fins, I already found myself counting 60 whales around me. Magic!”

So when he learns that Japan continues to slaughter whales, Florent Pagny has a hard time keeping his cool : “Frankly, I have the same feeling when you put a bullet in a doe, a peaceful animal. I can wear python or crocodile jackets but these, if they come across a human, not sure it will go too well for him”.
With other artists, Florent Pagny is therefore preparing a song to support Paul Watson, who is currently still in prison.
