The 10e Children’s Book Fair, which will be held from March 20 to 23, 2025, will have the theme “Friendships, meetings, sharing” and the title “Weaving connections”. During this show, the illustrators present will go to different classes in the department to create animations. 166 classes ranging from nursery school to college will welcome them, including all classes from the 2 schools in Saint-Gervais.

On Wednesday October 9, at the Espace Jean-Claude Deret, the organizers of this show brought together representatives of the classes concerned so that they could make their wishes on the illustrators they would like to receive. Isabelle Jallais, first assistant, specified that the godmother of this show will be Gaya Wisniewski, already present in 2020. Corinne Renard presented each speaker, their books and their drawings, specifying the class levels in which they wish to intervene.

A project around the Little Prince by Saint-Exupéry

Three publishing houses are invited to this show: Les Fourmis Rouges, ABC Mélody and Hongfei.

School visits will be possible at 2 exhibitions, from March 4 to 18: Gaya Wisniewski at the Maison de la bd and Delphine Renon at the Espace culturelle Leclerc. Among the guests, 4 foreign illustrators will be present (Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Great Britain).

Like every year, a visual arts project will be proposed. It was presented by Pascale Jausserand. The 2025 theme will be The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1943) and in particular his meeting with the fox and the rose. A production with two or more characters will be created and the production will have to be done in three dimensions by combining visuals, images, drawings, prints, photographs, photocopies, etc.
The organizers thanked the educational advisors, digital advisors and retired teachers who will accompany the illustrators in the classes.
At the end of the meeting, the teachers were able to consult a few works by each illustrator before making their choice.
