Ha Sung Woon’s agency has responded to a recent plagiarism controversy surrounding the OST of the song “What are we” for the drama “Love Next Door”.

On October 4, the OST “What are we”, sung by Ha Sung Woon for the tvN drama “Love Next Door”, was hit by accusations of plagiarism online, with many netizens pointing out its striking resemblance to the track “0310” by Baek Yerin, a song she personally composed and wrote in 2019.

Baek Yerin herself personally mentioned the issue on Instagram, expressing her frustration with a post saying:

“You must be terrible at copying. Feel bad. If you want a song like mine, ask me. »

She also reposted several Instagram stories from fans who expressed that they also found the two songs to be too similar.

Faced with this, Ha Sung Woon’s agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, released an official statement on the situation:

“Hello, this is Big Planet Made Entertainment.

Regarding the plagiarism allegations raised by Baek Yerin on social media today regarding the OST “What are we” of the drama “Love Next Door” sung by Ha Sung Woon, we would like to clarify that Ha Sung Woon n is not involved in this plagiarism case.

Both Ha Sung Woon and Big Planet Made Entertainment only participated as a vocalist in the OST at the request of the drama’s production company and did not participate in the writing, composition, or production. arrangement of “What are we”.

However, we deeply regret that the OST sung by Ha Sung Woon is involved in a plagiarism dispute and has caused concern among fans.

We would like to reiterate that Ha Sung Woon is not involved in this plagiarism issue and we hope for an amicable resolution between Baek Yerin and the OST production company. »
