Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: a superhero movie with… super-villains!

The worst villains in the DC Comics universe united in the same film? It’s possible and it’s in the very entertaining Suicide Squad, released in theaters in 2016! Good news: this thrilling adventure is broadcast this Sunday evening on TF1.

– Want another TV tip for tonight? We recommend an excellent western which undoubtedly inspired Clint Eastwood!

Suicide Squad, a touching scene of which was cut by the studio, is the story of an armada of scoundrels of the worst kind, brought together to face a threat as enigmatic as it is invincible. Armed to the teeth by the government, these super-villains then embark on a suicide mission. Until they realize that they have been sacrificed. Will they accept their fate or rebel?

Rhythmic, action-packed, funny and politically incorrect, Suicide Squad, scratched by the press upon its release, deserves a second chance almost eight years after its arrival in theaters. Led by a luxury cast, it is still worth more than the flood of criticism to which it has been the subject…

The casting, therefore! In this backfiring Suicide Squad which attracted nearly 2.3 million spectators in French cinemas, there are still, in particular, Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto, the latter two delivering remarkable performances. The recent interpreter of Barbie thus interprets the character of Harley Quinn with passion, humor and madness, while Leto is astonishing in the skin of her boyfriend, who is none other than… the iconic Joker!

Jared Leto doesn’t talk to Will Smith!

To play the Joker on screen, Jared Leto was so invested that during the six months of filming, he never spoke to Will Smith outside of their shared scenes! “He was totally into his character”notes the latter, somewhat stunned.

To conclude, we note that according to the E! Online, a psychotherapist was hired by the production of Suicide Squad to support the actors. Objective: to prevent them from becoming like their characters, particularly dark and tormented!
