As The Edge said in a statement, “ for this anniversary edition, I delved into my personal archives to see if there were any unpublished gems and I hit the jackpot. We chose ten that really spoke to us. If at the time we decided to leave these songs aside, with hindsight we recognize that our initial intuition to include them in the album was the right one. »

Recorded in the group’s studio in Dublin as well as in the south of , How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb follows All That You Can’t Leave Behind, released in 2000, thanks to which the group had reconnected with its rock bases and with favorable reviews. But as an album, the whole isn’t greater than the sum of its parts, and that annoys me. »

The new tracks will allow fans to hear what Bono and the band had in mind while making the album: “ What we find on this ghost album is the raw energy of discovery, the visceral impact of the music, a sonic narrative, a moment in time, the exploration and interaction of four musicians playing together in a rooma expliqué The Edge. This is pure U2. »
