This musical, a commercial failure last fall, is notably cited in the worst film and worst sequel categories.

The first Jokerwith Joaquin Phoenix playing Batman’s sworn enemy, earned the actor an Oscar. But this time, he is nominated for the Razzie for Worst Actor.

Her partner in the film, Lady Gaga, is nominated in the worst actress category.

Descended by critics, the film grossed $200 million, about a fifth of its predecessor’s box office, and far more than it cost to produce.

A parody award, the Razzies were created in 1981 to poke fun at Hollywood’s culture of self-righteousness. These awards are announced each year the day before the Oscars.

This year, the nominations also give pride of place to Megalopolis by Francis Ford Coppola, nominated in six categories.

Madame Weba much-mocked superhero film, also garnered six nominations. Just like the presidential biopic Reagan and the video game adaptation Borderlands.

Unfrosted by Jerry Seinfeld, a surreal story about Pop-Tarts pastries, is nominated in four categories.

As for the Oscars, nominations are scheduled for Thursday.
