Due school holidaysthe team of service neurology of thePasteur hospital from Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche) decided to move forward a few days its animation planned as part of the International Epilepsy Dayset each year on February 10.
It is therefore Tuesday February 4, 2025from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., doctors and nurses will take turns in the hospital hall to answer all questions that we can ask ourselves about this disease which affects almost 650,000 French peopleof whom 300,000 are under 20 years old.
“Life first”
What to do when faced with a person in crisis? What are support ? What are the consequences epilepsy in the children ? Why do we talk about epilepsy? plural? What is therapeutic education for the sick?
What are the causesof this chronic illness? And its consequences on the daily life THE travel et the dwelling? Here are some of the questions that are regularly asked by patients and their families.
-The “Épilepsie France” association and its slogan “life first” will be present alongside professionalsof the neurology department, who also hope for the presence of representatives of Handi’chiens, the Departmental House of Disability and France Habitat.
Epilepsies are chronic neurological diseases that are not harmless, but not necessarily tragic, and great personalitieslike Flaubert, Molière, Newton and Agatha Christie are famous epileptics who testify that this disease is not new.
