In Star Warslightsabers are often a source of creativity. Lightsabers can come in various colors and shapes. So much so that no two lightsabers are alike. Recently, Marvel Comics (which holds the exploitation rights to the universe Star Wars) has just featured a brand new Sith, with a completely new lightsaber.
Lightsabers in the Star Wars universe
Original lightsabersthere are a lot of them in the universe Star Wars. The purple lightsaber of Mace Winduthe flame sword of Kylo Renthe double lightsaber of Dark Maulthe black lightsaber of Mandalorians. In short, there are lightsabers all sizes, colors and shapes. In fact, if you think about it a little, it’s the series Star Wars Visions who most exploited the creativity of lightsabers. This animated anthology series features sabers, each crazier than the other. Among the most notable, we can remember Master Ronin’s katana from the very first episode; THE saber laser lasso The Village Bride ; or the immense lightsaber of The Twins. In addition to shape, color obviously has a special meaning. Whether green, blue, orange, red, black, each color represents a different expression of the Force.
In short, all this to say that the shape of lightsabers can change enormously. The proof with this new Sithwho has completely new swords. In fact, discover Dark Momin and his saber like no other.
Dark Momin: a new, unique lightsaber
In Darth Vader no 22 by Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli, Darth Vader builds a fortress on Mustafar. To do so, the famous Sith Lord used the essence of a long-dead Sith: that of Dark Momin. Several centuries ago, before his death, Dark Momin transposed his essence into his helmet. A way for him to keep one foot in the physical world, but above all to be able to control any user of their headset.
During his youth, Momin was an unbalanced boywho was having fun torturing and killing innocent small animals. With their mutilated corpses, he created extremely disturbing sculptures. As Momin grew older, he continued his penchant for mortuary artwith more evolved species. While he is locked in prison, Momin attracts the attention of a Sith Lord who decides to take him under his wing. Under his tutelage, Momin forged his helmetto hide his swollen face. Face that he scarified himself. After creating his helmet, he kept his tools, to make lightsabers.
Darth Momin graded the handles of his sculpting tools after corrupting his kyber crystals. He used these handles to make your helmet in which his soul would be preserved for millennia. These are the same handles that were used for him disfigure the face. It is therefore logical that Momin kept these hilts for his lightsabers.
Dark Momin is therefore a Sith like no other. A complex and disturbed characterwho is more interested in his macabre art than in the ways of the Force. Throughout his story, Momin makes it clear that he had no interest in learning the ways of the Sith and wanted neither a master nor an apprentice. Momin simply wanted to satisfy his psychotic penchant for artand therefore used the dark side of the Force to achieve his objectives. Previously, Momin only had ordinary sculpting tools to create his horrifying art, but as a Sith, his lightsabers have literally become his sculpting tools.
