RC is interested in Lucas Cañizares

After the loss of its starting goalkeeper Brice Samba, RC is interested in Spaniard Lucas Cañizares to strengthen its team this winter.

Lucas Cañizares (22 years old) is going through a season very different from the one he imagined. Having left on loan to Faro in Portugal to gain playing time and assert himself in his first experience outside of Real Madrid, the Spaniard has not yet had the opportunity to start with the Portuguese club's first team. Indeed, the club failed to sell Ricardo Velho as planned, and Cañizares remained confined to the reserve. However, the Valencian retains a certain appeal and several clubs, which had already inquired during the last summer transfer window, are now returning to his trail.

An opportunity in Lens for Cañizares?

The latest club to have contacted the young goalkeeper is RC Lens. According to information from Reliefthe French club, which recently lost its starting goalkeeper Brice Samba, transferred to Stade Rennais, is looking to strengthen itself with a young profile. Cañizares is among the first choices to fill this void, although his transfer has not yet been finalized and several aspects remain to be negotiated.

RC Lens, currently seventh in the French championship, has two goalkeepers in its squad: Koffi (28 years old) and Petric (36 years old). If Koffi seems to have taken the place left vacant by Samba, the sports management is looking for an additional goalkeeper to strengthen competitiveness. Cañizares, who was already in the thoughts of the leaders last summer, thus returns to the negotiating table.
