The figures from the latest report from the French Observatory on Drugs and Addictive Tendencies (OFDT), made public on Wednesday January 15, paint an alarming picture of cocaine consumption in the country. No less than 1.1 million people say they have taken it at least once a year in 2023. Nearly one in ten people (9.4%) say they have already taken it in their life (13.4% in men, 5.5% in women). Figures to be compared to the 600,000 recorded in 2017 by a previous study by the OFDT.
