The investigation of gendarmes of the company of Bagnols-sur-Cèze and the brigade of Rochefort-du-Gard was well carried out: the stabbing murder of a sixty-year-old woman is elucidated.
The facts date back to this Thursday, January 16, 2025, around 8 p.m.: the victim was found by the Sdis 30 firefighters from the Angles barracks in the family home in the town of Pujautin the Rhone Gard, on the edge of Vaucluse. The Smur-Samu of the Avignon hospital also intervened, but the sixty-year-old had died when the firefighters and doctors arrived, with several stab wounds, her death dating back several hours. It was a neighbor who raised the alarm, intrigued by not having seen this woman for at least 48 hours, which was abnormal for him, and also finding his son's behavior very strange, giving no explanation about the absence of his mother.
This young son was also in the house when the emergency services, then the first Gard police arrived. Aged around twenty years old, he made confused remarks and engaged in incoherent scenes, quickly becoming suspect in the eyes of the gendarmes of the research brigade of the Bagnols-sur-Cèze company, charged with the investigation by the Nîmes prosecutor, Cécile Gensac.
-While the kitchen knife used to kill the 60-year-old was seized and placed under seal and fresh traces of blood were isolated on her clothes, the son was taken into custody. He would have admitted to having been present when a violent argument broke out with his mother, the ongoing investigations working to determine the precise day and time of the events.
Already treated for schizophrenia
At the end of 48 hours of hearing, where it appeared that he presented mental disorders, signs approaching the schizophrenia, according to an expert at the Nîmes Court of Appeal who concluded that his condition was nevertheless compatible with police custody, he was referred to the Nîmes public prosecutor's office this Saturday, January 18 in the evening, then presented before an investigating judge of the criminal center of the Nîmes judicial court, which indicted him for intentional homicide on ascendant (an alleged matricide) and imprisoned in accordance with the requisitions of the duty magistrate at the prosecution and the judge of liberty and detention, the Jld.
The alleged murderer is already known for psychiatric historywhich led to stays in specialized adapted care centers. He was required to undergo daily treatment. The gendarmes' investigation continues following a letter rogatory from the investigating judge, in particular to establish the reasons for this bloody dispute.
