A highly anticipated film by superhero fans, James Gunn’s Superman will arrive in theaters on July 9.
This is already one of the cinema events not to be missed: the Superman by James Gunn. One thing is certain, the fans are very impatient, because the idea is to return to the original Superman and restart the saga from the beginning.
We will notably discover the planet Krypton, among others. And imagine that the 2025 version of Superman will wear exactly the same costume as that of the 1980s films with actor Christopher Reeve.
It must be said that the latest films, released in particular in 2016 and 2017, worked very poorly, probably because they had strayed too far from the spirit of DC Comics comics. This time, it will truly be a return to basics. The idea is to use modern special effects while playing on nostalgia, especially for those of a certain generation.
But actually, who will play this new Superman? This is a 31-year-old American actor, David Corenswet, who we could see in the series Hollywood. With still relatively few feature films to his credit, this will be his first major film role.
However, he will not be the real star of the film. No, the star will be his sidekick: the dog Krypto. Yes, you may not have known it, but Superman has a dog.
He is a little bichon who also wears a red cape and who also knows how to fly. Note that this is his very first appearance in a film. Before that, he was mostly present in comics.
And while the film has not yet been released, its trailer is already a hit. It’s simple: it has become the most viewed and the most commented on in the history of Warner Bros. This proves the immense expectation around the film, which must certainly add a lot of pressure to its director.
With iconic villains and a return to basics, this new adaptation of the superhero should please everyone, both children of the 1980s and those of today.
See you on July 9 in theaters!
