To postology Star Wars left the universe imagined by George Lucas in a pitiful state. To make up for it, Disney has not been stingy with content. The series have made it possible to maintain the attention of fans, however they are only waiting for one thing: to return to the cinema. This will soon be the case with several projects having already been announced, including one which recently received news.
Many Star Wars projects in production
The story of Star Wars has always been written in cinema. Each release of a film from the license has created an event and fans want to rediscover this enthusiasm. Although the franchise left us with a Star Wars IX : L’Ascension de Skywalker with a very bitter taste, it nevertheless misses not hearing the music of John Williams in cinemas anymore. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait 5 more years to listen to it again.
Disney has several projects up its sleeve. Among them, there is particular talk of a new trilogy entrusted to Simon Kinberg although for the moment we have no further information. Conversely, we are better informed about Star Wars : New Jedi Ordera film that will focus on Rey Skywalker and his goal of creating a new Jedi order, and on The Mandolorian & Grogufilm which will conclude Dave Filoni’s series. The hottest news, however, concerns Shawn Levy’s feature film, a work of which we are finally beginning to see the contours.
Shawn Levy’s Star Wars is revealed
Aside from James Mangold, Shawn Levy is the other big name mentioned in future projects Star Wars. Building on the success of Deadpool & Wolverinethe director is expected to do the same with the other big Disney franchise. Last summer, the filmmaker seemed pretty sure of what he was doing on the podcast Happy Sad Confused in particular by displaying its desire to move away from the chronologies already exploited. However, the director has not given any news since. As we began to forget it, Shawn Levy gave a booster shot this December at Indiewire by confirming that he was indeed working on a film Star Wars.
Since “Deadpool & Wolverine” was satisfying to make, I’m looking forward to what comes next. And yes, there is a “Star Wars” film that I am developing with Jonathan Tropper, the screenwriter of “Adam Through Time”. You never know what will happen next.
The filmmaker said nothing more, but someone else did. Jeff Sneider, the famous insider, announced to his subscribers in one of his recent newsletters that filming on Shawn Levy’s film could begin in September 2025. The man even adds that Rey would be therebut not as a protagonist. On the other hand, she will be the mentor of the latter who should be either a teenager or a young man. If this were to be confirmed, it would give a clear indication of the timeline of the film.
Star Wars Count on Shawn Levy to take the franchise beyond the stars. But before we get there, fans can always follow along The Skeleton Crew whose episodes are released every Wednesday on Disney+.
