the origin of Anakin's scar finally revealed

In Star Wars, few characters can boast the same popularity as Anakin Skywalker. The Jedi left an indelible mark on the saga, particularly when he fell to the dark side in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. In the film, he displays a legendary physique marked by a scar on his arch that has become iconic. However, the origin of this scar has always been unknown to fans of the films. In fact, to know it, you have to search the immensity of transmedia works of Star Wars.

Star Wars: a mysterious scar

Anakin is the protagonist of the prelogy Star Wars. By following him from his childhood to becoming Darth Vader, we could think that the character no longer had any secrets from us. However, he did have one and it was on his face. At the start of Episode III, everyone noticed that he had a scar next to his right eye that he didn't have before. It could have come from his fight against Count Dooku in Attack of the Clonesbut he only loses his arm without suffering damage to his face. His scar therefore appeared between the two films.

In 2008, the canon animated series Star Wars : The Clone Wars taking place between episodes II and III could have answered fans' questions. Problem is, the series doesn’t do that. Subsequently, other prequels, such as Ahsokacame out and showed Anakin without ever revealing the origin of his scar. Another problem is that even George Lucas, the creator of the license, doesn't know it either. Fortunately, the extended universe of Star Wars is rich, and if the answer to our questions is not found on the screen, it is found on paper.

The origin of Anakin's scar revealed in a comic book

Star Wars is a stronghold in the world of comics with new works regularly providing fans with information. One of them concerns Anakin's scar and is found in the Legends universe. In issue 71 of Star Wars : Republic released in 2004 we learn that his scar is due to a fight against Asajj Ventressa Sith assassin in the pay of Count Dooku. It's strange to have this revelation in comics knowing that in The Clone Wars the two characters clash several times. However, there may be a reason for this, and you won't like it.

Anakin vs. Asajj Ventress

Since 2014, apart The Clone Wars and original films, all works transversal to Star Wars Releases before this date are considered non-canon. SO, the origin of Anakin's scar still remains an unsolved mysterystill remaining today only a simple war wound…

Anakin dans The Clone Wars
