Temperatures are dropping, the end-of-year holidays are coming. The desire for a little cocooning outings is felt. Cinema is becoming a popular destination. Here are the films that you should not miss this month of December 2024.
We start the month with a film starring Liam Neeson. The 72-year-old actor plays a seriously ill mafia henchman. The latter will try to reestablish the link with his daughter but the task promises to be more complicated than it seems.
The following week, we will be entitled to two simultaneous releases. The first will allow you to find the famous Lord of the Rings license. It will be an animated film by Kenji Kamiyama focusing on the story of Helm Hammerhand. The second is a feature film dedicated to one of the anti-heroes of the Spider-Man universe, namely Kraven. The opportunity to find Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the title role.
During the third week, Disney will offer a new live-action film. More specifically, it will be a prequel to the 2019 film The Lion King which will allow us to learn more about the relationship between Mufasa and his brother.
Finally, to end the month well, fans of Sega’s blue hedgehog will discover Sonic The Hedgehog 3. This new part has the particularity of introducing Shadow, a character played in its original version by Keanu Reeves.

Liam Neeson plays Thug, a mafia henchman who discovers a serious health problem. The revelation is such that he wants to reconnect with his children. Obviously, it is difficult to accept letting an absent father into your life, especially when you are a young single mother. The relationship with his daughter Daisy promises to be complicated.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim
A true phenomenon of British literature, The Lord of the Rings license has been brilliantly adapted for the big screen by Peter Jackson in three films. This time, it is Kenji Kamiyama who will tell the story of Helm Hammerhand (played by Brian Cox), legendary king of Rohan who faced the Dunlendings, in the form of an animated film.
Kraven the Hunter
Venom is not the only anti-hero in the Spider-Man universe to have the right to his feature film. Kraven, aka Sergei Kravinoff, will also appear in a film directed by JC Chandor. Following the bite of a beast during a confrontation that went wrong, he will develop superhuman strength which he will use to take revenge on his father. Aaron Taylor-Johnson will take on the role of Kraven, while the character’s father will be played by Russell Crowe.
Mufasa: The Lion King
After the success of the live-action film The Lion King, Disney will offer a prequel which will look back on Mufasa’s youth. By extension, the story will allow us to discover the past of Scar, his brother, and to understand how the latter harbored resentment towards Simba’s father. Note that the project is in the hands of Barry Jenkins (Moonlight).
Sonic The Hedgehog 3
In 2020, Sonic, the famous blue hedgehog arrived in theaters through a live-action adaptation. He was back in 2022 for a sequel as part of a trilogy. After introducing Tails and Knuckles in the second feature film, Jeff Fowler will tell a new story featuring Shadow in this third film. The emblematic character of the license will be played by Keanu Reeves (Matrix, Constantine, John Wick).
