After being crowned the best referee in the world for five consecutive years by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), Stéphanie Frappart was beaten. This year, the French referee will have to settle for second place, just behind the English referee Rebecca Welch. The gap nevertheless remains tight, since only 14 points separate the two women (118 against 104).

Numerous appearances in men's football
On October 4, 2020, she refereed her first shock in Ligue 1, the Olympico between OL and OM. On October 22, 2020, she refereed for the first time in the Europa League, with the Group G match between Leicester and Zorya Luhansk. On December 2, 2020, she refereed her first men's Champions League match during the Juventus FC-Dynamo kyiv match.
