Available this Wednesday, November 20, 2024 on Netflix, GTMax also takes place in the motorcycle world. The film continues the tradition of French action films offered by the platform, such as AKAthe most seen French production in 2023 or The Wages of Fear released in March 2024, remake of the cult film with Yves Montand. Muscles still, but rather at the level of the engines this time, in GTMax. The film follows Michael, a motocross racer trained by his sister Soélie, a former champion victim of an accident which now keeps her away from the circuits. Through a combination of circumstances, Michael finds himself involved in a nasty hold-up affair which will lead him to drive a GTMax, a competition motorcycle, boosted for the occasion. Olivier Schneider's first feature film, this testosterone-inducing spectacle rushes along well-marked roads. Our man knows how to do it when it comes to pursuits at the level of the tarmac, he who was coordinator of the fights on Fast & Furious 6and stunt director on Dying can waitJames Bond's latest adventure. Alas, action is not everything and, as eventful as they are, the two-wheeled rides are drowned in a rehashed scenario, with initial trauma, cathartic ordeals then final redemption. All under the gaze of a tough but inevitably big-hearted father, played by a Gérard Lanvin who is more monolithic than ever… Nothing new in the engine, then.
Who are the actors of GTMax on Netflix?
In front of the camera, spectators will be able to recognize Ava Baya in the skin of Soélie, the only one who is somewhat passing the second, with her character full of frustration and inner rage.
