Once upon a time, in a big wood, there lived a poor woodcutter and a poor woodcutter. The cold, hunger, poverty, and war everywhere around them made their lives very difficult. One day, a poor woodcutter takes in a baby. A baby thrown from one of the many trains that constantly pass through their woods. Protected whatever the cost, this baby, this little commodity will turn the lives of this woman, her husband, and all those who will cross her destiny, up to the man who threw her from the train, upside down. Their story will reveal the worst as well as the best of men's hearts.

After letting himself be carried away by very different styles (The Artist, Oss 117…) Michel Hazanavicius gives us a poetic animated film on the Shoah and a tribute to the Righteous who saved lives, then promised to the camps of death. The Most Precious of Goods is his very first animated film made, he actually drew the images himself. The film is carried by the music of double Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat.

Liane, 19 years old, reckless and incandescent, lives with her mother and her little sister under the dusty sun of Fréjus. Obsessed by beauty and the need to become someone, she sees in reality the possibility of being loved. Destiny finally seems to smile on her when she goes through a casting call for “Miracle Island”.
