2 is mobilizing on the occasion of International Children’s Rights Day. On Wednesday November 20, the channel devotes a continuous evening dedicated to childhood violence. It will begin with the broadcast of “Signalements”, a film directed by Éric Métayer, starring Cécile , Odile Vuillemin and Bruno Solo. Adapted from the book by Karine and Laurence Brunet-Jambu, based on a true story, this fiction tells of the latter’s fight to save her niece from the abuse of her parents. Using all means to alert social services, the determined aunt was even prosecuted for slanderous denunciation, before winning her case after more than ten years of a fierce struggle.

Adaptation of a true story

After the release of the book, the rights were quickly sold for an adaptation, and Laurence Brunet-Jambu was consulted by the directors of this TV film. “There were things where I was a little questionable, but they explained to me that the story was so sordid and unimaginable that it was going to be complicated to put everything into a film.” tells the France 3 website the one who was able to follow all the preparations for the film as well as the casting. In the end, the result sticks to the ordeal they experienced with her niece. “Of course, it’s a TV movie, the story was adapted, but in the film, there is nothing invented. It was important because I didn’t want anyone to sully Karine’s story or my fight.” she assures.

Awarded at the last edition of the Festival

To play her on screen, the choice was entrusted to actress Cécile Bois, who won the best actress prize at the 26th La Rochelle Festival. Opposite the heroine of “Candice Renoir”, viewers will find Odile Vuillemin, who therefore “camps”a fractured mother”, even going so far as to hand over his own child to a pedophile. “Someone had to dedicate themselves to do the dirty work!” assures the actress engaged in the columns of “Télé 7 Jours”. At the end of the credits, Carole Gaessler will take over for a debate entitled “how to protect children in danger”, in the presence of Karine and Laurence Brunet-Jambu, but also specialists. “This format allows you to enter into an issue through fiction that arouses empathy and emotion”promises the one who can’t wait for next November 20.
