La Croisette had the French accent with the out-of-competition presentation of the Count of Monte Cristo (in theaters June 28, 2024). Already screenwriters of the diptych The three Musketeersthe very fashionable Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte (duo at the origin of First name) continue their rereading of the work of the Alexandre Dumas monument, this time also going behind the camera. Exit François “D’Artagnan” Civil (who should take the steps this Thursday to phew love), places his great friend Pierre Niney in the guise of the magnificent Edmond Dantès in this great literary classic, adapted many times for the big screen. The star of the series Fiasco notably gives the answer to the César winners Anaïs Demoustier and Bastien Bouillon, to Laurent Laffite, Anamaria Vartolomei, and even Pierfrancesco Favino (also a member of the jury). A good part of this five-star cast therefore made the trip. Starting with Pierre Niney, relaxed and chic in a black double-breasted suit, accompanied by his beloved, actress Natasha Andrews. Laurent Lafitte had opted for a more classic style in navy blue; while Anaïs Demoustier, also very elegant in a suit, was magnificently adorned with a brooch and silver earrings echoing the emblematic palm of the Cannes Film Festival.
