More than forty years after its theatrical release, subscribers to the platform can now enjoy Cabbage soupthis cult comedy in which the icon of French cinema and Jean Carmet played Le Glaude and Le Bombé, two alcoholic peasants living completely apart from modern life. One night, an alien from the planet Oxo lands in a flying saucer in Glaude’s garden. After neutralizing Le Bombé, the alien nicknamed “La Denrée” is offered a little cabbage soup as a welcome token.

Filming the comedy was far from being a pleasure for Louis de Funès. Victim of several heart attacks, the French favorite comedian was very weakened. A physical weakening which was also seen on the screen. If the action of the film is supposed to take place in a deep countryside, the production chose to film in Seine-et- so that the actor has access to care in the event of health problems. The team also did not shoot at night so that Louis de Funès could rest. These scenes therefore took place in a studio, located in Épinay.
