A story of big monsters and survival: it’s Elevationa sci-fi film with Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin, which makes you want to watch it. First trailer.
Sci-fi films in survival mode always make you want to watch them. Of I am a legend has Bird Box passing through Edge of Tomorrow et Hostileit is a formula that delights fans of monsters of all kinds. In this vein, we obviously think Without a sound released in 2018, and which gave a sequel in 2020 and a prequel in 2024 around these super-predators ultra-sensitive to sounds.
That’s good, the film Elevation shares a producer (Brad Fuller) with Without a sound. It’s there again a story of nightmarish creatures, of a desolate planet and poor people trying to survive. And the trailer is quite tempting.
MONSTERS AND COMPANY
Written by Kenny Ryan, Jacob Roman and John Glenn, Elevation is based on a very simple idea. On an obviously post-apocalyptic Earth, a single father (who says he lost a lot of things, we imagine loved ones) and two women must leave the safety of their home. They team up to face monstrous creatures in order to save the life of a child.
Armed to the teeth, they will have to venture into particularly dangerous territory. And if the trailer maintains the mystery about the nature and design of monsters (which are a bit reminiscent of the Deviants you film The EternalsSorry), they just look like they’re pretty damn fast and angry.

Facing Morena Baccarin (Deadpool, Greeland) and Maddie Hasson, it’s Anthony Mackie who leads the battle. Widely known for the role of Sam Wilson / Falcon which he has held at Marvel since Captain America: The Winter Soldier In 2014, he also starred in films like Million Dollar Baby, Minesweepers, Detroit et No Pain No Gain.
Between the films Io et Synchronicthe series Altered Carbon et Twisted Metalor the episode Strinking Vipers from season 5 of Black Mirrorhe also has an obvious appetite for science fiction and post-apocalyptic worlds. He is also expected in Netflix’s sci-fi blockbuster The Electric Statewhere he will lend his voice to a character in a dystopia where America was destroyed following a war, where giant robots were used.
With Elevationhe reunited with director George Nolfi (The Agency) after the Apple TV+ movie The Bankerwhich he also produced there. George Nolfi was also one of the screenwriters of Spectralanother story of armed people facing monstrous and deadly creatures.
Elevation releases on November 8 in cinemas in the United Stateshowever there is no release date in France for the moment. Anthony Mackie will in any case be back at the top of the bill in 2025 with Captain America 4 : Brave New World (in theaters February 12, 2025), where he will officially take up the mantle of the character in his first solo film, after the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
