After Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder already unveils Twilight of the Gods, his Viking series on Netflix

The first image of Twilight of the GodsZack Snyder’s next series in collaboration with Netflix, has been revealed and it’s intriguing.

While Rebel Moon 2 is out and it’s already doing worse than the first film on Netflix, many must pray that the Red N/Zack Snyder alliance ends as soon as possible, even if it might be complicated. Indeed, we know that the long versions of Rebel Moon with sex and blood everywhere will arrive this summer (help) and thata series imagined by Snyder is also in preparation for Netflix.

It is Twilight of the Gods, a Netlfix series with vikings in which there would be “a lot of sex” according to Zack Snyder. This eight-episode series is showrun and directed by Jay Oliva (writer of several DC films), who also serves as executive producer, while Snyder created and executive produced it alongside his wife, Deborah Snyder. And besides, the first image of Twilight of the Gods has just been revealed, and we can perhaps say that the good Snyder has finally returned.

Twilight of the gods, the return of the good Snyder?

It’s via a post X (obviously relayed by Netflix) that Zack Snyder presented the first image of Twilight of the Godswith the following mention:

“We fear no god! Coming to Netflix this fall, my new animated series TWILIGHT OF THE GODS.”

An image that makes you quite curious. We notice a fairly refined, almost childish style, which also contrasts with other statements by Snyder concerning the series (notably in relation to violence and these famous sex scenes) and with his baroque habits.

Twilight of the Gods (which literally means “the twilight of the gods” in French”) would be a revenge story in which the child of the giants Sigrid (probably the character seen above), accompanied by a seer and a dwarf ,’s mission is to find a god and fight him.Twilight of the Gods can also refer to Ragnarök, the prophetic end of the world in Norse mythology, ending in a great clash and the death of many gods and deities. This is not the first time that Snyder has tackled the theme of the divine figure, he who had already approached with more or less delicacy in Man of Steel and especially Batman v Superman.

Like a little feeling of deja vu

Twilight of the God will be Snyder’s second animated project after The Kingdom of Ga’Hoole in 2010, which had also proven that its outrageous style went very well with this type of production. It remains to be seen whether it will work as well with the Netflix series, which should therefore arrive on the platform this fall.
