“See you soon, Rafa”: Athletes bid farewell to a legend.

After Rafa Nadal announced his retirement from professional tennis, reactions have been swift. Many athletes wanted to bid farewell to the Mallorcan player, expressing gratitude for everything he has done and highlighting his remarkable career, which has made him a true legend.

One of the first to react was German midfielder Toni Kroos. A great admirer of Nadal, the former Real Madrid footballer shared his farewell through social media: “What an example as a player and, more importantly, as a person! See you soon, Rafa.” On the other hand, Teresa Perales expressed her gratitude to Nadal for all he has accomplished as an athlete: “THANK YOU for all that you have made us live and experience over the years. You are and will always be a great reference. Humble, brave, persistent, strong, close to us, part of our lives. That’s how we’ve felt you, and we always will.”

Former tennis player Pablo Andújar, who retired last year, also took to social media after Nadal’s announcement. “There are no words to define what you have given to our sport, our country, and our society. Thank you Rafa for all these years. LEGEND.” Another athlete who bid farewell to the Mallorcan was Nick Kyrgios, who had his share of clashes with Nadal. The Australian didn’t hesitate to say goodbye to Rafa in a very friendly manner: “We had our differences, but you were an incredible fighter. My best wishes and good luck with what lies ahead.”
