THERE YOU GO. I WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE WEATHER RIGHT NOW. IT IS 54 DEGREES IN KANSAS CITY. BUT LAWRENCE IS ONLY 39. IT’S 44 IN ODESSA. IT’S JUST A COOL, BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN MORNING. WE HAVE A FEW CLOUDS FLOATING BY, BUT THEY’RE NOT GOING TO PRODUCE ANY RAIN FOR US HERE IN KANSAS CITY. I MENTIONED THAT THERE’S THE SLIGHTEST OF CHANCES OF RAIN IN CENTRAL MISSOURI ON THURSDAY. DON’T BLINK. YOU’LL MISS THIS RIGHT THERE. THAT’S IT. THAT’S AS CLOSE AS IT GETS TO US IN KANSAS CITY. SO WE REMAIN ABSOLUTELY DRY ACROSS OUR NINE DAY FORECAST. YOU’LL SEE THIS THAT THERE IS JUST A LACK OF RAIN AT LEAST THROUGH THE WEEKEND. NEXT WEEK WE HAVE SOME FLUCTUATIONS WITH THE TEMPERATURE THAT MAYBE COULD SQUEEZE OUT SOME RAIN, BUT RIGHT NOW THAT RAIN CHANCE IS LESS THAN 10%. SO IT IS NOTHING THAT WE CAN COUNT ON. SO LET’S TALK ABOUT EVEN THOUGH IT’S DRY AND WE NEED RAIN, AT LEAST WE DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE ROYALS GETTING RAINED OUT, SUNNY AND WARM FOR FIRST PITCH ON WEDNESDAY, AND BY THE END OF THE GAME, TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE 60S. AND THAT’S THE EXACT SAME WEATHER FOR THURSDAY’S GAME AS WELL. NEXT WEEK IT DOES GET A LITTLE BIT COOLER, BUT EVEN AT ITS COOLEST, WE’RE NOT THAT FAR FROM WHAT’S NORMAL. NOTHING EXTREME. NOW WE’LL TURN OUR ATTENTION TO THE GULF OF MEXICO. HERE IS HURRICANE MILTON YESTERDAY IT RAPIDLY INTENSIFIED. IT WENT FROM A ONE TO A CAT FIVE. YESTERDAY IT WAS CRAZY. NOW IT’S A CATEGORY FOUR. STILL A VERY STRONG HURRICANE. IT’S GOT A LOT OF WARM WATER TO WORK WITH. SO I SUSPECT IT WILL GO BACK TO A CAT FIVE LATER TODAY. BUT OUT OVER WATER AS IT APPROACHES THE WEST COAST OF THE FLORIDA PENINSULA JUST BEFORE LANDFALL, IT SHOULD DROP BACK TO A CATEGORY THREE THAT DOESN’T REALLY MEAN MUCH FOR THE FOLKS HERE. IT IS STILL GOING TO BE A SIGNIFICANT HURRICANE MAKING A DIRECT IMPACT ON THE WEST COAST. THERE. SOMEWHERE IN THIS AREA SHADED IN RED, NOT NECESSARILY DIRECTLY INTO TAMPA, BUT THAT’S WHERE THE FORECAST MODELS HAVE IT RIGHT NOW. AS YOU KNOW, THE RIGHT SIDE OF AN ADVANCING HURRICANE IS WHERE YOU’RE GOING TO GET THE HIGHEST STORM SURGE. THEY COULD SEE OVER A FOOT. I MEAN, EXCU
